You probably updated some of your HDD or SSD's You might need to update the second 'Standard SATA AHCI Controller' entry from Device Manager. And no, you do not need 'Intel Rapid Storage Technology' program, it is designed to show you the status of your drives it is not essential, in addition it runs as a startup item. My mousse or camera works just fine. When I plug in a mass storage device, I get the message 'USB Device Not Recognised'. In Device Manager, under USB it appears as an 'Unknown Device'. When trying to update the drivers, I get the message that the best drivers have already been installed for this device.

Update Controller Driver
Hello I was wondering if anyone happened to know how to update the standard sata ahci controller? Reason why I ask is because my WD HDD Blue 1Tbb has been performing very poorly(extremely slow when loading games) recently and I have been attempting many things to fix the performance. I posted a thread previously about something else that was related to this issue of mine, and someone was suggesting to update my sata controller drivers or sata chipset drivers(these two different things?)to see if that would work.
Unfortunately I’m still somewhat new to updating these type of things. My mobo is the “MSI B150 m3 gaming”and I checked msi’s website if they have anything related to sata controller and they don’t. I did see though that my intel chipset drivers are up to date if that means anything. I installed iobit driver booster to check and I'm shown that the driver for the SATA controller is 'very old' and the current version is from 2006 and the new one to update to is from 8/7/2017.
I am a little unsure in trusting these types of software but I confirmed it was correct after checking device manager and it indeed is from 2006, any idea where I can find the newer version for this sata controler driver? Should I just update it through this software or is there anywhere else I can get it from? Any help would be appreciated.
